Fury Road was a crazy thrill ride. This movie had a simple yet intriguing plot that can be summed up in one word, survive. Some characters are naturally gifted survivors, while others kind of stumble into it. However, the journeys of each of the characters present in the movie intertwine in believable and inventive ways. Nothing felt rushed.Fury Road takes the time to develop the relationships between major characters in the film. These characters are placed in a dystopian setting which is not explained too vividly, other than nukes and war destroyed civilization. Max is thrown into a strange world almost instantly. Almost as suddenly the audience is introduced to Furiosa played by Charlize Theron, and then the race begins.
While the title is Mad Max, the tale is certainly Furiosa’s story told from Max’s point of view. Furiosa is the Ronda Rousey of this universe. She is one bad mother, and the film communicates this through actions. There is a reason she is a leader amongst the savage inhabitants. There is enough intrigue and mystery surrounding Furiosa to keep you enthralled. The writers intricately weave elements of mystery and revelation regarding Furiosa and why she embarked on the movie’s main quest.

Last but not least is the score. Fury Road has an impressive score full of blood thumping guitar riffs and heart pounding drums. I had the irresistible urge to download the soundtrack and add it to a workout playlist, and I am not the most avid of exercisers. The score is normally one of the most overlooked elements of a film; however, the score for Fury Road makes the movie what it is. Elements of the score are even incorporated into the setting. Once the drum truck equipped with a flamethrower electric guitar appeared, you know it’s on.
